Economics is a social science that studies the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Economics focuses on the behaviour and interactions of a variety economic agents, from individuals  and companies through to governments and  countries.

Good Subject Combinations

Economics combines well with Mathematics and Further Mathematics as well as Science subjects. However, combining this A Level with creative subjects like English Literature will widen your analytical and communication skills. Students wishing to study Economics at Degree level may think of combining it with a science subject like Physics or Chemistry especially for applications to top universities.

Economics builds skills such as analysis, communication and critical thinking. Economists must be able to review data, observe patterns, and draw logical conclusions. It is highly recommended to take A Level Economics if you are pursuing careers in accountancy, finance or business.
